The game was in Nashville Tennessee with the Predators against the Hurricanes. They played a great competitive game until the third period. The Predators scored a goal to bring the tally to 1-0. After the goal was scored, there was a tornado warning issued. No fans were allowed to leave until the officials could be sure that the bad weather had passed.
Several people stated they could hear the thunder in the distance getting closer. The officials were trying to figure out whether they should evacuate the stadium or keep the fans until the storm had gone by the arena. The fans and the teams were both very unhappy thinking the game would be called because of bad weather. Luckily, with the score in the third quarter, it brought them out of the tie.
While waiting to see what was going to happen with the weather, the fans discussed the game and its great plays. The Hurricanes held the Predators back with their rapid fire defense and keeping all eyes on the puck. Chris Mason, the Hurricanes goalie, thought he had succeeded with his fourth shutout of the season. He did block the thirty one shots before the one that got past him though. That says a lot.
