The game was in Nashville Tennessee with the Predators against the Hurricanes. They played a great competitive game until the third period. The Predators scored a goal to bring the tally to 1-0. After the goal was scored, there was a tornado warning issued. No fans were allowed to leave until the officials could be sure that the bad weather had passed.

Several people stated they could hear the thunder in the distance getting closer. The officials were trying to figure out whether they should evacuate the stadium or keep the fans until the storm had gone by the arena. The fans and the teams were both very unhappy thinking the game would be called because of bad weather. Luckily, with the score in the third quarter, it brought them out of the tie.

While waiting to see what was going to happen with the weather, the fans discussed the game and its great plays. The Hurricanes held the Predators back with their rapid fire defense and keeping all eyes on the puck. Chris Mason, the Hurricanes goalie, thought he had succeeded with his fourth shutout of the season. He did block the thirty one shots before the one that got past him though. That says a lot.

Hockey is one of those sports you love to hate. The games often run into overtime and then they get into fights and beat each other with their sticks. It makes for good watching for a spectator sport anyhow. For the really rabid fans of ice hockey, they have created a virtual game that you can play. It comes in PSP and XBOX game formats. You can play the computer or you can play your favorite player in the league.

The Ottawa Senators lost some players in their last game against the Islanders. Jason Spazza, their first line center, was smacked with an open ice hit. Dany Heatley, the right wing, dislocated his shoulder and will be out for six weeks. On the Islanders side, Rusian Fedotenko was hit on the head and left the game to go to the dressing room and never came back.

The Blackhawks of Chicago have recalled a player they sent to Rockford. Twenty two year old Troy Brouwer, a right wing, had previously made 17 goals in games. They instead sent their center Petri Kontiola to Rockford to take his place.

The Captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs was sentenced to prison for four years after driving drunk and killing Keith Magnuson who was a former Blackhawk defense man. His license has been revoked for at least five years. He will be appealing the decision.
